Hey everyone! I just installed an RX 6600 into my PC, and while trying to play Marvel Rivals, my CPU temperature shot up to a crazy 95°C! Before this, I was using the Ryzen 5 5600GT with integrated graphics, and I could barely get 20 FPS on the game, so it was frustrating. After upgrading to the RX 6600 and downloading all the necessary drivers, I thought things would improve, but immediately after starting the game, my PC lagged, and I had to check the temperature. It was way too high! It did drop back to about 63-67°C after I booted, but then when I tried to enter the game again, it froze and spiked back to 95°C. I'm really worried about this; could someone help me figure out what's going on?

You’re likely bottlenecking now that the new GPU is allowing your CPU to actually work harder. While 95°C isn’t an immediate danger, it’s definitely a sign to check your CPU cooler and ensure everything’s installed correctly. You might wanna consider upgrading your cooler if the problem persists!
Definitely make sure you're using an adequate cooler for your Ryzen 5. Is this temperature issue only happening with Marvel Rivals? Because during shader compilation of rivals, my CPU shot up to 90°C+ even with a 240mm AIO cooler. But that was just at startup. Keep an eye on your temps across other games too!
It sounds like your CPU cooler might be poorly mounted or clogged with dust. With stock coolers, my Ryzen 5 5600 usually hits about 85°C at max load, but you’re pushing it now that you have a better GPU. The integrated graphics likely masked the CPU's performance issues, but now that the RX 6600 is producing more frames, it’s putting extra strain on your CPU. Also, check if Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) is enabled to reduce temps a bit. Your baseline temp of 67°C during regular activities doesn't sound too bad, though it’s a good idea to keep an eye on it!
Thanks a lot! Just to clarify, my CPU is actually around 44°C during normal desktop use, but it does hit 67°C with heavier tasks like gaming or drawing while multitasking. I'll check the cooler for sure!
It's the stock cooler that came with the CPU. I haven’t played much else recently, but I'll keep an eye on the temps in other games too!
