Why is my CPU usage so high when playing games?

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting here. I've noticed that my PC is struggling more than it should when running simple tasks, like launching a game. I have solid specs, including an RTX 3060 Ti and an Intel i7, but just starting Valorant pushes my CPU usage up to around 60%. I've tried cleaning out the hardware, but that hasn't helped. Plus, I've been dealing with overheating issues, even though the fans seem to work fine. I'm really stumped on what's going wrong here!

It's not uncommon for CPUs to spike in usage when launching games, especially demanding ones like Valorant. The i7-11700 is a good CPU, but it might help to check your background processes. Sometimes, other applications can hog resources and cause high usage. Also, make sure your drivers are updated, as old drivers can lead to performance issues.

High CPU usage while gaming can sometimes be due to settings in the game itself. Lowering some graphics settings can alleviate the load. Also, verify if there are any unnecessary programs running in the background. You could also run a virus scan just to rule out malware affecting performance.

Overheating is definitely a concern, especially if your CPU temperature reached 92°C. You might want to reapply thermal paste if it's been a while, and ensure that your case has good airflow. If your fans are running but still overheating, it might be worth checking if your cooling system is functioning effectively. Dust buildup can also impact cooling performance.
