Every time I boot up my PC, I get the message to scan and repair my D drive. It seems to be fixing the files one by one, but recently it has been stuck at 949 out of 6031 for over two hours. What steps should I take to resolve this issue?

Two hours is way too long for that process to be running. I recommend doing a forceful power off and then skipping the startup check. You can manually run the disk check from the command prompt using the command 'chkdsk D: /f'. It also might be a good idea to use some software to check the health of your drive because it sounds like there could be a hardware issue that might require replacing the drive.
Can you clarify what you meant by replacing the drive? Are you saying it needs to be completely swapped out? I checked my D drive in disk management, and it says it’s healthy.

Replacing it would mean getting a new drive if it turns out to be failing, especially if the repair isn't working. If your disk management shows it's healthy, there might still be a glitch causing the repair issues. It's worth checking with some diagnostic software.
