Why is my desktop PC’s download speed capped at 200Mbps on a 900Mbps plan?

I recently upgraded to an internet plan that offers 900Mbps for both downloading and uploading, but my main desktop PC is only reaching a maximum download speed of 200Mbps. I've been using the Ookla speed test with an Ethernet connection, and I've also tested Wi-Fi but got similar or even worse results. Just to clarify, the same Ethernet cable connected to two different laptops showed speeds of 900Mbps, indicating the cable isn't the problem. I've updated all the drivers and scanned for malware without finding anything. And yes, I'm definitely connected to the 5GHz network. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Just for reference, my motherboard is an MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon.

Just a quick note, are you sure you’re not mixing up Mb (megabits) with MB (megabytes)? That’s a common mistake that can cause confusion!

Check the Device Manager for your Realtek GbE settings. Go to Properties, then Advanced, and set Speed and Duplex to 1Gb. This fix can sometimes improve connection speeds.
