How Can I Connect My GPU with Limited PSU Cables?

I've been trying to set up my new graphics card, a Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 9070, but I'm feeling confused about the power connections. I plugged in the main motherboard cable to the PSU and one 8-pin cable for the CPU. My power supply unit is a Seasonic Core-GX-750-V2-ATX 3.1. Now, I only have one 12-pin PCIe cable and one 8-pin PCIe cable remaining, but my GPU requires 16 connectors. Did I just get the wrong PSU or cables? I only have one 8-pin PCIe and one CPU cable left, plus a 12V-2x6 cable. The 12-pin cable has one connector on each end instead of two, which I expected to see. Am I missing something here, or is my PSU just not sufficient for this GPU?

It sounds like your PSU just doesn't have enough cables for your setup. This specific model may limit your options, which can be frustrating! If it helps, make sure to check the compatibility listings again, as cables can sometimes vary.

It's good to know they are marked as compatible, but I guess that doesn't always mean they work well together. I'll look into getting additional cables then!

Your PSU does include an adapter cable that should work for your GPU. The 12vhpwr cable you have can easily connect to your GPU, and then you would use the 2 x 8 PCIe connections on the other end. If it wasn’t clear, make sure to connect it properly as it seems like that's what's needed to power your GPU fully!

I wasn't sure about that either! I heard conflicting info about where the 12vhpwr should go, but now it makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying!
