I'm using Spectrum's 1Gbps internet plan, and while my router is getting about 1,118 Mbps, my computer connected via a Cat6 Ethernet cable to a 2.5G port is only showing 440 Mbps. I'm trying to figure out where the bottleneck is that's causing this slower speed. My router is the one provided by Spectrum, and my motherboard is an ASRock X670E.

First, check if there are any mismatched settings on your Ethernet or wireless adapter compared to your router. Sometimes, configurations need tweaks to max out speeds. Also, be sure you're testing with different speed test tools, both wired and wireless. And use a quality Ethernet cable if possible; longer cables can introduce issues if they're not good quality. Spectrum isn’t the best for consistent speeds either; they tend to have some infrastructure challenges. So, testing with multiple speed tests might give you a clearer picture!
If you're using the Spectrum speed test app and fast.com, make sure those tools are up to date and that you're testing under similar conditions. Have you checked your device settings? Sometimes they'll need manual adjustments instead of just relying on automatic ones. Unfortunately, if you're stuck with a long Ethernet run, try using a shorter, high-quality cable if possible, especially for troubleshooting!
