I recently connected my WD Elements external hard disk, but instead of showing as a removable drive, it's displaying as a local disk on my Windows 11 system (Build No. 26100). I've tried renaming it, but that hasn't worked either. I've attached a screenshot of the problem for reference. Any suggestions on how I can fix this would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure to double-check any BIOS settings related to USB and drives. Sometimes the configurations can affect how devices are recognized by the system. Just a heads up—always back up your data before making changes, though!
It sounds like you might be dealing with a read-only issue or even some damage to the drive. Make sure you can right-click on it in File Explorer and rename it from there. If that doesn’t work, check the drive properties and look for any settings that might be preventing changes. You might want to share the 'General' tab details from the properties window for further help!
Looks like it might be corrupted then. Have you backed up your data? If so, you might need to reformat it.
I had a similar problem, and it turned out to be a cable issue. Try a different USB cable or port and see if that resolves the issue.
I tried that, but it's still not working for me. Here's a video showing my issue: [Watch Here](https://youtu.be/_DUu-3xRRyQ)!
