Why Is My External Monitor’s Resolution Blurred Compared to My Laptop?

I just upgraded to an ASUS TUF Gaming F16 FX608JH laptop and I want to use my current monitor, which is an HKC MG24G3F, while keeping the laptop lid closed. However, when I connect them with an HDMI cable, the monitor's resolution looks different and is quite blurred. I've checked, and the display settings are set to the recommended resolution, but it's still not right. Can someone help me understand why the resolution appears this way, and if I need a new monitor for better compatibility? Any recommendations for monitors that would match my laptop's resolution?

It sounds like you're dealing with a resolution mismatch. Your laptop has a resolution of 2560x1600, which is definitely higher than your monitor's 1920x1080. When you scale down for a larger screen, things can get a bit fuzzy. One way to improve the situation is to lower your laptop's desktop resolution to match your monitor, which can help things look cleaner. If the quality is still lacking, you might want to consider getting a higher resolution monitor. There are some portable options that match your laptop's specs, but if you prefer a larger screen, look into ones with at least 2560x1440 resolution for a significant upgrade!

Thanks for the tips! If I want something bigger, which monitor do you recommend that's not portable?

Would going for 2560x1440 make a big difference?
