Why Is My Fedora System So Slow After Dual Booting?

I've recently set up a dual boot with Fedora installed on my 1TB hard drive while running Windows on a 256GB SSD. I've noticed that my system is running really slow. Here are the specific issues I'm facing: 1. Applications take around 5-7 seconds to open, especially the first time. 2. Booting into Fedora is slower compared to booting Windows. 3. Occasionally, applications become unresponsive, prompting me to force quit them. Could this sluggish performance be due to having Fedora on the hard drive instead of the SSD?

It sounds like the slow performance is largely due to running Fedora off a hard drive, which generally has slower access times compared to an SSD. If you're able, consider moving your Fedora installation to the SSD for much better speed.

That makes sense! I really should think about switching my main OS drive.

Would it be better to partition my SSD and install Fedora there?
