Why is my FPS so low in Valorant?

I'm having an issue with my FPS in Valorant, and I can't seem to figure it out. Here's my setup: I've got an Intel Core i9-14900K CPU, a Zotac RTX 5080 Extreme GPU, an NZXT Z790 motherboard, 64GB of Corsair DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz, a 2TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, and a Corsair iCUE Link H150i Elite LCD 360 cooler. My power supply is an ASUS LOG 1000W Platinum. In the main lobby, my FPS hits about 1200, but during the game, it drops to around 250-350. I saw a YouTube video of someone with the same CPU and GPU getting 900 FPS in-game, which makes me wonder what's going on.

I've tried several things to troubleshoot:
1. Changed the RAM slots, but my monitor didn't turn on when I tried slots 1 and 3.
2. Checked that the RAM slots beneath are normal.
3. Ensured all cables are properly connected after shifting the RAM.
4. Disabled Hyper-Threading to see if that would help.
5. Updated and reinstalled GPU drivers with DDU.
6. Set NVIDIA PhysX to GPU instead of the automatic setting.
7. Monitored my CPU and GPU usage, which remain quite low, hovering around 14% for the CPU and 5-15% for the GPU.
8. Disabled integrated graphics in BIOS to ensure the dedicated GPU is being used.
9. Used MSI Afterburner to check GPU clock speeds and power usage.
10. Made sure my 1000W PSU is sufficient for the build.

Despite all this, I'm still struggling with low FPS while gaming. Any suggestions?

Honestly, your FPS might be capped by your monitor's refresh rate. If you have a 600Hz monitor, there's a chance you’ll need at least that to see any significant FPS performance. Just focus on staying above that threshold!

Yeah, exactly! I do have a 600Hz monitor, so I definitely need to hit that.

Considering you’ve got that new 5000-series GPU, keep in mind that not all of your FPS is usable. A lot could be just for show. It’s not necessarily an issue; that's just how it can be with newer cards.

What do you mean by 'fake' FPS?

I get why you're chasing high FPS in Valorant, but keep in mind that the game's not too demanding. It feels a bit over the top to aim for 900 FPS when most monitors can't display anywhere near that. It's a bit of a 'why' moment for me!

That's fair, but again, my monitor can handle 600Hz.
