Why is my Heaven Benchmark score so low?

I've been struggling to get decent scores on the Heaven Benchmark. I've got a Ryzen 9 9600X CPU paired with an RX 9060 XT graphics card, but I only scored 1680. I'm using 1440p resolution, 8x anti-aliasing, in fullscreen mode, and set everything else to extreme. However, 3DMark rates my setup around average with Time Spy and other benchmarks, so I'm not sure what's going on with Heaven. Could my settings be the issue?

Heaven Benchmark is pretty outdated, so don't worry too much about the score. It was released back in 2009 and only uses DirectX 11. Modern systems often score lower because they aren't optimized for older benchmarks like this one.

True, but it feels like everyone else is getting much higher scores! What gives?

Just to add, Heaven is actually a DirectX 9 benchmark from 2008. Your 3D Mark results are a better indicator of your system's performance. If you're getting average scores there, everything's likely working as it should!

Haha, now I feel better! That explains a lot.

Also, keep in mind that Heaven might be limited in what it can detect. For example, I noticed it says my card has only 4GB of video memory, which shows how old the benchmark is. You might want to stick to 3DMark for better results!

Yep, I agree! 3DMark it is; I feel like I can trust it more!

By the way, how are you running the benchmark? Do you have VSync or any adaptive sync settings turned on? That could affect your FPS results.

Isn't Heaven like ancient now? It's not really a reliable test for modern hardware, so it's probably time to switch to something more current.
