Hey everyone! I have an iPhone SE (3rd gen) that I've been using for about two years, and lately, I've noticed it's heating up a lot and the battery drains really fast. For instance, I charged it to 100% this morning, but just half an hour of browsing Reddit brought it down to 45%. It gets so hot that my hands start sweating while using it! My battery health is currently at 87%, and I've never damaged the phone or left it in extreme temperatures. I usually keep it charging overnight since it charges really quickly. I even went to an Apple Store, but they told me the battery was fine and sent me back. I'm just trying to figure out what's happening here – do I need to get a new phone?

It sounds like your battery might be on its way out. Even if it checks out okay, it could be showing early signs of wear. Definitely consider getting it checked by a specialist, just to be sure.
*I went to an Apple Store, said these things, and they told me the battery was fine and sent me on my way.* Sounds frustrating! I wouldn’t rely too much on their assessment; it might still need replacing.
From my experience, even if the battery readings look normal, it could still be failing. If you're feeling heat and rapid battery drain, it’s likely time for a replacement. Just make sure to unplug it after charging to avoid any potential issues from optimized charging. I’ve gone through batteries like this before, and replacing them helped fix the problems.
Is this a common issue with iPhones? I don’t use mine plugged in often either, but I don’t think I've done anything wrong. Should I look into replacing the phone soon?
