My laptop seems to be stuck at 80% RAM usage or higher, and I suspect it might be due to some cracked software or something similar. How can I identify what's causing this high RAM usage?

First off, how much RAM does your laptop have? If it's only 4GB or 8GB, then seeing 85-90% usage can be pretty normal, especially on Windows 10 or 11. However, if you have 16GB or more and you're still hitting those numbers, that could be concerning. Make sure to check what's using up the RAM in your Task Manager and let us know your specs too!
If you're on Linux, high memory usage may not be an issue since it uses cached memory for efficiency. But if you're on Windows, definitely check your RAM specs and consider that 8GB really is the bare minimum for decent performance nowadays!
Yeah, if you’ve got multiple tabs open while streaming or similar tasks, that can easily max out your RAM.
You might be dealing with background processes. I've had a similar issue; it turned out to be search indexing running continuously. I just turned off that service, and it made a big difference. Hopefully, your issue is just as simple to fix!
Also, try showing what your Task Manager looks like—sort it by RAM usage. It might help us pinpoint the issue better.
