Why is my motherboard showing red CPU light and orange DRAM light after replacing GPU and PSU?

I recently swapped out my graphics card and power supply, but now my system won't boot. The CPU light on the motherboard is red, and the DRAM light is orange. I'm using an MSI x670e Tomahawk Wifi board with the new Corsair HX1000i power supply.

The fans are running, but there's no output on the screen. I've double-checked that all the cables are in the right place and that everything is securely connected.

I even went back to using my old graphics card, but that didn't help either. I've tried resetting the CMOS by shorting the JBAT1 pins. Most advice I've found points to a possible issue with the CPU or RAM, but both were functioning perfectly before, so I'm hoping I've just missed something with the new power supply. Any suggestions would be really helpful—thanks!

Based on what you're describing, it sounds like the motherboard isn't detecting the CPU or RAM properly. It could help to check the manual for your motherboard; that might clarify the light indicators for you.

Consider testing without any dedicated GPU if your CPU supports integrated graphics. The best approach would be to remove everything but the essentials: just the motherboard, one stick of RAM, the CPU, a cooler, and the PSU. Try to boot like that. No drives or additional parts connected should help you get into the BIOS more easily.

Make sure that everything is unplugged and then reseat all your components, especially the ones you recently changed. Start with the power supply and graphics card. Just take your time and stay calm—this can often solve connection issues.

If you're still having problems after that, it might be worth trying to strip down your setup further, like the previous comment suggested, to isolate the issue.
