Why is my motherboard’s built-in Wi-Fi not showing up?

I have a Gigabyte Eagle x870 Wi-Fi motherboard, but I'm having trouble getting the wireless Wi-Fi to work without connecting via Ethernet. It only shows a Bluetooth option and not the Wi-Fi option I'm looking for. The motherboard came with an IO port adapter that connects at the back, but it's still not functioning. In my device manager under network adapters, I can see 'Realtek PCIe 2.5GbE Family Controller.' I downloaded the Realtek LAN driver from the Gigabyte website, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something important. What could I be doing wrong?

Don't forget to check the physical connections too! Ensure that the antenna(s) are properly connected to the back of your motherboard. It might seem minor, but a loose connection can definitely cause issues.

First things first, make sure you've installed the correct Wi-Fi drivers. It sounds like you might just have the LAN driver, which won’t enable Wi-Fi functionality. Check the Gigabyte support page again for a specific Wi-Fi driver for your motherboard model.

Just a thought—are you possibly in airplane mode? Sometimes a simple toggle can hide the Wi-Fi option entirely. Check your settings to make sure that's not the case.
