Hey folks! I'm having a frustrating issue with my internet connection. I've switched out my modem and upgraded my internet plan, but I still can't figure things out. Speed tests show I'm getting over 1000 Mbps, but when I check my task manager, it only shows network utilization between 10% and 16%. Friends of mine mention it should typically be around 80%. I'm really not sure what to do next—any advice would be appreciated!

It really depends on what you're downloading. For instance, services like Steam won't provide speeds anywhere near 1000 Mbps, even if your connection can handle it.
Are you actually downloading anything when checking utilization? If not, the bandwidth won't be used. Also, just a heads up, it's likely that you meant 1000 Mbps, not 1000 GB/s! That’s a massive difference.
For you to see around 80% utilization, you'd need to be downloading about 800 Mbps. The only way to hit that mark is if there’s significant local network traffic or perhaps running a ton of simultaneous downloads. Honestly, whoever told you it 'should' be 80% might not really understand how these things work.
Task Manager only indicates the utilization of your network card. If you're not running multiple data-heavy applications at once, it's normal for that percentage to stay lower than expected. You won't see high utilization without the traffic to push it there.
