Why is my new gaming PC lagging during basic tasks?

Hey everyone, I just got a new gaming PC that works great for playing games, but I've noticed that it lags during basic tasks in programs like Lightroom and Photoshop. It feels like the frame rate drops to around 15 FPS, even though my GPU and CPU usage stays below 50% during these lags. I'm starting to think it might be a RAM issue. If anyone has any advice or suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Here are my specs:
- AMD Ryzen 5 7600
- RTX 3060 12GB
- DDR5 2x16GB RAM

I even attached a video that shows the cursor stuttering when I move text.

It sounds like the programs might not be using the right GPU. Check the hardware acceleration settings in Lightroom and Photoshop to make sure they're using your RTX 3060. It could also help to double-check if they're set up correctly in your system settings.

Both programs do have hardware acceleration turned on and the correct GPU selected. Thanks for the suggestion!

Honestly, looking at your specs, I'd say this is more of a mid-range PC than a high-end one. But that aside, first things first—update your GPU drivers and restart your computer. Also, make sure your operating system is up to date. If you haven’t already, double-check that your video cable is plugged into the graphics card, not the motherboard. If you're running from an SSD, you might want to turn off fast startup, as it can mess with cache files. Have you tried checking your RAM configuration or even reseating it? Also, keep an eye on your CPU and GPU temperatures; overheating can also cause lagging issues.

Don't underestimate my 3060! But you're right, I should check temperatures. It is booting from an SSD, so I’ll turn off fast startup. Thanks for all the tips!

From what you’ve described, your specs shouldn’t cause this issue. Have you checked the actual RAM usage under "committed"? Also, do you have a USB drive connected? It might help to run the Adobe apps in safe mode to see if that changes anything. Also, try to figure out when else it happens outside of Adobe software.
