I recently upgraded from an iPhone 12 Pro to an iPhone 17 Pro, and I'm really surprised by how quickly my battery drains. Sometimes I feel like I have to keep it on Low Power Mode all the time just to make it through the day. My usage is pretty moderate—mostly texting and browsing apps or Safari a bit. I don't play games or watch much video, just the occasional photo and some reels throughout the day. I thought there would be noticeable improvements in battery life with such a big upgrade, but now I'm wondering if I was misled. Are these supposed battery improvements only for the larger models?

Definitely check what apps are using the most battery too! Sometimes apps can run in the background and drain power faster than you realize. A lot of users see better battery performance after a week or two once they've fine-tuned their settings.
It sounds frustrating! One thing to consider is your screen time and how long your battery really lasts. It might help pinpoint where the drain is coming from. Also, the iPhone 17 Pro is packed with features that might be using a lot of power initially until you adjust the settings. Have you checked your Screen Time stats?
Did you make sure to keep it plugged in and on WiFi for the first few days? Sometimes new phones need time to index all the data and that can lead to quicker battery drain. If it’s brand new, your battery health should be at 100% right now, so give it a little time to settle in.
