I built a new PC in early 2025 with a Ryzen 7 9800x3d processor, and I'm running Windows 11. My internet is connected via a LAN cable and I pay for a speed of 500 Mbps. However, when I run speed tests, I only get results between 130 Mbps and 230 Mbps, regardless of the browser I use. Interestingly, all my other devices, including my phone on Wi-Fi, are getting close to the full speed. This issue has been occurring since early this year, and I'm not sure what's causing it.

It sounds like you might be dealing with some connection errors. This could be due to a faulty cable, a bad network interface card (NIC), or even a negotiation problem with the router. If your NIC is capable of 2.5G but your router only supports 1G, they might not be negotiating correctly. Make sure your BIOS and NIC drivers are up to date. If that doesn't help, try manually setting your NIC to 1000/full duplex, even though it’s not usually recommended as a first fix. Have you tried testing with another device on the same cable?
Have you confirmed the performance by testing a different cable? Sometimes, cables can degrade, leading to performance issues. Also, it would be good to know more about your motherboard. That might help narrow down any compatibility issues. Always helpful to check your complete parts list!
