I recently upgraded my GPU from a 4060 to a 5070 and now my PC is running super slow and is really choppy. After the upgrade, I went into safe mode to uninstall my old drivers using DDU and then reinstalled the latest NVIDIA drivers. However, my PC now takes forever to boot compared to when I had the 4060, and it sometimes freezes completely. Here's a rundown of my setup:
- OS: Windows 11 Pro
- Motherboard: Asus B760-I
- Graphics Card: Nvidia 5070
- Power Supply: 850W Corsair
- RAM: 32GB DDR5
- Storage: 2.5TB SSD
I didn't have any problems when I was using the 4060, so I'm not sure what's going wrong after this upgrade. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

That sounds frustrating! Usually, upgrading within the same brand like NVIDIA shouldn't cause issues. Have you thought about rolling back to an older driver version? They've had some buggy updates lately. Also, clearing your shader cache from Steam or Windows might help clear out some of the clutter.
What kind of power supply are you using? Sometimes the PSU can affect performance if it's not able to deliver sufficient power, especially after an upgrade.
I have a Platinum-rated, fully modular 850W Corsair PSU. It should be more than enough for my setup.

I did try using an older driver, but I ended up crashing on the desktop. It wouldn't even boot, which is weird because the motherboard lights come on and both the CPU fan and GPU fan are spinning, but there's just no display.
