I'm experiencing a strange issue where my PC shows 94% memory usage despite having nothing open apart from Opera, which is only using 1.4GB of RAM. I have 32GB of RAM total. I researched potential fixes last night but didn't find anything helpful. I want to avoid reinstalling Windows if possible. When I boot into safe mode, my RAM usage is much lower and was fine last night in normal mode, but today it's almost completely maxed out again. Can anyone help figure this out? Here are my specs:
- Ryzen 5 7600X3D
- 32GB RAM
- RTX 3060

Have you checked your task manager for any unusual processes? Sometimes, background tasks or services can hog RAM without being immediately obvious. If you can, post a screenshot of the task manager so we can better diagnose the issue. You might also want to try installing RAMMAP from Microsoft; it's a tool that can help you clear up memory and shed some light on what’s causing the high usage.
I had a similar issue and RAMMAP helped a bit, but it still wasn’t perfect. I think I managed to drop my usage down to around 87% after using all the 'Empty' options. Might be worth a shot if you haven't yet!
