Why is my PC’s internet speed so much slower than my phone’s?

I've been facing an ongoing issue with my PC's internet speed. My phone can get up to around 400 mbps, but my PC struggles to hit 20 mbps or even lower. I've tried adjusting my internet settings to a/n/ac, but that hasn't helped. I'm considering reinstalling Windows, but I don't have a USB drive available. I've heard there are risks to doing it the 'easy' way that could potentially cause issues with my system. Any suggestions or solutions to improve my PC's internet speed?

By the way, is your phone getting that speed on Wi-Fi or 5G cellular?

It's on Wi-Fi.

If possible, try connecting your PC directly with an ethernet cable instead of relying on Wi-Fi. However, I get that it might not be easy if the connection point is on another floor. By the way, which version of Windows are you using?

Sometimes the wireless card in PCs isn’t as powerful, especially if it's an older model. You might want to check your PC's specs online. If the wireless capabilities are lacking, a low-cost USB Wi-Fi adapter from Amazon or eBay could be a quick fix. Just share your model number if you're unsure, and I can help look it up!

Here's a pic of my specs. Just a heads up, I am from Norway, so you might need to translate a bit!

Actually, that's not really true. Your internet speed isn't directly limited by your RAM, but it's good to ensure your system performs well overall.

Keep in mind that internet speed can also be impacted by your PC's specifications like RAM. If your hardware is outdated, it might struggle over Wi-Fi.
