Why is my phone’s internet speed so much better than my laptop’s?

I'm experiencing a weird issue where my phone's internet speed is around 40-50 Mbps, but when I connect my laptop to the phone's hotspot, I'm only getting about 0.1 Mbps. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

It sounds like a driver issue on your laptop. Try updating or reinstalling your network drivers. If you have an Android phone, you could also opt for USB tethering, which often provides a much more stable connection.

Have you checked your hotspot plan with your carrier? Different providers have varying limits on hotspot speeds. For example, I only get 1 GB of fast hotspot data with my plan before my speed gets throttled. But it sounds like yours might not be an issue since you're on an unlimited plan!

Yeah, your carrier typically won't differentiate between phone usage and hotspot usage, so it might not be that.

I have unlimited data, so I don't think that's the problem.
