I recently cleaned my PS4 Slim and changed the thermal paste, but now I'm having issues. When I try to load a game, it takes a long time before the console starts overheating, and the image on the screen keeps flickering. I've already tried using some lower-quality thermal paste and then switched to MX6, yet the problem persists. I feel like everything was reassembled correctly, and I'm really confused about what's going on.

It sounds like something might have gone wrong during your cleaning. Is this your first attempt at cleaning a console?
If your PS4 is overheating right after changing the thermal paste, it could mean the paste was applied incorrectly. Too much, too little, or uneven spreading can all cause issues. Consider double-checking that it's applied evenly and check if there are any other components that might be causing the overheating.

I'm actually pretty experienced with laptops and phones, so I thought I'd be fine doing this. It seems like everything's in the right place since the fan is working and there's enough airflow. The PS4 powers on, it just keeps overheating.
