Why Is My RAM Running at 4800 MT/s Instead of 5200 MT/s with EXPO?

I've got four Teamgroup UD5-5200 DDR5 RAM sticks installed, and I just enabled EXPO 2 in the BIOS. However, when I checked the performance tab on my taskbar, it shows the RAM speed at 4800 MT/s instead of the expected 5200 MT/s. Can anyone help me figure out why this is happening?

If you're using a 7 series CPU, sometimes that lineup has limited options for running four sticks at higher speeds. The X/B650 boards aren't known for great memory stability either.

Honestly, I’ve never had much luck with automatic RAM settings from Intel or AMD, so I always set the timings manually. It saved me from issues down the line.

What motherboard are you using? It might be reverting to 4800 because it's not stable at 5200 MT/s. You could try updating your BIOS and make sure you save your settings when exiting the BIOS—usually with F10.

Running four sticks of DDR5 can be tricky for overclocking on any CPU, and it's kind of a lottery whether it'll work. It’s impressive it even boots at the default speed of 4800 MT/s.

Is there really no way to get it to 5200 MT/s?
