Why is my RAM usage so high with no apps running?

I've noticed that my RAM usage is around 79% just when I'm on the desktop, and I don't have any applications open. I checked the task manager, but that didn't really help me figure things out. I have 8GB of RAM, an RTX 2050 graphics card, and an AMD Ryzen 5500H processor, but my games started stuttering. Does anyone have any idea why my RAM usage is so high?

Honestly, 8GB of RAM isn't a lot, especially with how resource-hungry Windows 11 can be. It's pretty normal to see high usage even without many apps running.

So you're saying Windows 11 might need around 4GB just to run on the desktop? I really don't want to open up my laptop to add more RAM... But maybe I should consider it.
