Why is my USB drive stuck in read-only mode?

Hey everyone! I'm having trouble with my 30GB USB drive; it's stuck in read-only mode and I can't seem to fix it. I've tried changing the drive attributes, deleting everything, and formatting it, but nothing worked. I even tried using the command console, but it can't read the drive since it's read-only. I can still access the files and the drive shows up correctly in device management, but when I right-click, I can't see any option to change the read-only status—only the available space is shown. When accessing the files, they all show as read-only too, and I get a warning about that whenever I try to change it. The event log mentions a warning about "Kernel-PnP" indicating the device couldn't be migrated. I'm really at my wit's end here. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like your USB might be failing. Sometimes they go read-only when they near the end of their lifespan, just to prevent data loss. If the attribute and formatting attempts didn't work, it's probably on its last legs, so I’d recommend backing up your files if you can.
