Why is my USB stick not showing up on my Windows 11 laptop?

I recently downloaded files onto a 512GB USB stick that's formatted in NTFS, and everything works fine on my original PC. However, when I ejected the USB and plugged it into my Windows 11 laptop, the drive doesn't show up at all. I've tried updating the drivers and even checked Disk Management, but no luck. Does anyone have advice on what I can do?

First, check if the USB port you're using is functioning properly. If that's good, you might want to try a different USB stick to see if the problem is with the drive itself. Sometimes testing with another device helps clarify where the issue lies.

You should avoid using NTFS for external drives; formatting it to exFAT could resolve the issue. It’s generally more compatible across different systems.

If you still have access to your original PC, consider transferring the files back there, reformatting the USB to exFAT, and then loading everything back onto the USB stick. That might fix the visibility problem on your laptop.
