How can I completely stop Windows updates?

I've been having a lot of trouble with Windows updates. Every time I update and restart my PC, it locks me out, and I end up having to undo the update every single time. A while back, I found a way to pause updates for five weeks, but now I see a notification for another update. How can I just stop these updates from happening altogether? Sorry if this is something I could just look up; I've got really poor Wi-Fi and don't want to use too much of my data posting this.

You might want to check out Sordum's update blocker. It’s pretty handy for stopping updates altogether if that's what you’re after.

You can also stop updates through your Windows settings. Just go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Delivery Optimization. There are options to limit updates, and I wouldn't recommend stopping them completely since that can lead to issues.

If you really want to avoid Windows updates, you could consider switching to Linux instead. That way, you have more control over updates.
