Hey everyone! I'm facing slow boot times on my new PC that I just built. I did a clean install of Windows 11, and I'm seeing boot times of about 40 seconds from the moment I press the power button to when I see the Windows logo. This has stayed the same after a week of use.
Here's what I've built:
- Ryzen 7900X
- Deepcool AK620 cooler
- Asus B650E-Plus WiFi motherboard
- Kingston 64GB DDR5 RAM (KF560C30BBK2)
- Palit 4070 graphics card
- Montech Titan Gold 850W PSU
- Kingston KC3000 1TB SSD
- Goodram PX500 512GB SSD (older model)
- Skyhawk ST6000VX01 HDD
In the BIOS, I've undervolted the CPU and enabled memory context restore and EXPO settings. My friend's similar build is booting in just 15 seconds, and the only main difference is that he has an MSI X670 motherboard and no HDD. I tried removing my HDD and SSD without much change. My BIOS takes 10 seconds, then it's 30 seconds for Windows to load. My friend's BIOS also takes 10 seconds, but Windows only takes 5 seconds for him.
I haven't updated the BIOS yet since it's a new board, and I've done a thorough stress test on my undervolt settings. Is there anything else I should try, or should I just leave it as is?

You might be dealing with the common issue of long boot times with the AM5 socket and 600 series motherboards. These boards often retrain the RAM each time you boot up, causing delays. Some BIOS updates or settings for "fast boot" can help reduce this, but not all brands implement it effectively. Your friend's MSI board may have better handling for booting up. Thanks for the insight! I checked my BIOS, and while there's no explicit fast boot option, I do have the "boot after outage" set to regular to ensure everything checks out when I power on my PC.
