Why is my Windows computer taking forever to shut down?

I built my PC a few months ago, and I've noticed that it takes about 4 to 6 minutes to shut down after I click the 'Shut down' button in Windows. I recently reinstalled Windows but kept my files, and the problem still persists. I'm considering a full reinstall, but I'm worried it might not solve the issue. I don't think the problem lies with my SSD, though I might think about upgrading to a newer one and do a fresh install from there. I've already updated my BIOS, drivers, and Windows. I'm really stumped on what could be causing this long shutdown time.

You could enable verbose shutdown messages to see what process is causing the delay. Here’s how: Right-click on Start, choose Run, type 'regedit' and hit OK. Navigate to `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem`, create a new DWORD Value named 'verbosestatus', set its value to 1, and then restart. This should give you more detailed information during shutdown.
