I'm using a new monitor that supports 200hz, and I've noticed a huge difference between my work laptop and my personal laptop when both are connected to it. My personal MSI laptop, which has a 144hz refresh rate and a decent GPU, provides a smooth experience with no flickering. However, when I connect my work Dell laptop, which only has integrated graphics and is capped at 60hz, the display becomes choppy, and I even start getting headaches.
I know the Dell can technically support 144hz using DisplayPort, and I have checked the settings to confirm that it's set to 144hz on the monitor side. Yet, it still seems to be running at 60hz. Both laptops have similar settings, including Night Light, but I can't figure out why the performance is so different. Any suggestions on what to check or try?

1. Make sure your display settings are adjusted on your work laptop.
2. Are you using the same cable for both? Confirm there aren’t any differences in connectivity.
3. Check if HDR or any other display options might be affecting performance. These settings can change how the display functions across different devices.
What's the actual refresh rate showing for your work laptop? Sometimes settings can appear correct but still not function as expected. You might want to test confirming on different platforms or tools to see if there's a discrepancy reported.
The work laptop consistently shows 60hz while my personal one hits 144hz. The monitor indicates it's set to 144hz but not on the laptop.
Are you using the DisplayPort cable for your work laptop? Double-check that you've actually configured the refresh rate in your display settings correctly. Sometimes settings don't update as expected, and it could be a simple fix if it's stuck at 60hz in the settings even if you think it's set to 144hz.
Yes, I am using the same DisplayPort cable for both laptops, and the refresh rate shows correctly in the settings and on online test sites.

I've gone through all of that. The refresh rate is set to 144hz, and I’m using the same cable. The only adjustment between laptops is setting the same Night Light intensity. The monitor settings shouldn’t be affecting that.
