Why is only one of my monitors detected by my PC?

I've been having trouble with my dual monitor setup. When I plug in just one monitor at a time, both work fine individually. However, when I plug both monitors into my PC, only the second monitor gets detected. I haven't changed anything except for turning off the power supply inside my PC. Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

It sounds like there might be a connection issue. Try swapping the video cables between the monitors. If the first monitor starts working when it’s connected to the cable of the second monitor, then the issue could be with the cable or the port of the first monitor. Otherwise, the problem might be with the first monitor itself.

One thing to keep in mind is that if one of your cables is quite old (like the DVI-I cable you mentioned), it might not be compatible with the other monitor or graphics card port. Maybe try using a different cable for testing, if possible.

Where are you plugging in your monitors? Make sure both are connected to the graphics card rather than the motherboard. If they’re correctly plugged in and still having issues, double-check the settings in your display settings to ensure both monitors are being detected.
