Why is Siri not working on my iPhone 14 Pro Max?

I've been struggling with Siri on my iPhone 14 Pro Max since I got it, and it's only getting worse. Earlier, I asked Siri how far it was to a friend's house, and it incorrectly said she's not in my contacts. Even after I opened her contact, Siri still didn't recognize her when I asked for the distance. Sometimes, when I say 'Hey Siri', the swirling circle appears, but Siri doesn't respond at all. I've tried asking multiple times with no success. Any idea what's going on or how to fix this?

Your Siri might need some rephrasing when you ask it questions. I found that stating the request more clearly helps a lot. Instead of asking basic questions, include specific details. For instance, say something like, 'How far is my friend (name) from my place?' Also, make sure your friend's address is fully filled out in Contacts. Siri requires context to work well.

Thanks for the tips! I did include the address, and I tried several ways to ask, but it still didn't work for me. It’s frustrating!

It sounds like your Siri issues might be due to some upcoming features in iOS 19 that haven't been rolled out yet. Since your iPhone won't get Apple Intelligence updates, there might not be a fix until then. You could try checking for any software updates, but I've heard that many improvements are still in the works.
