I've noticed that my computer has suddenly stopped connecting to Ethernet, and I can't figure out why. I've tried several troubleshooting steps, including buying a new cable, resetting both my router and computer, and checking the network adapters in the device manager, which now only shows WAN adapters. My Ethernet network seems to have disappeared from the control panel, too. I've attempted to renew the IP config and even run various Windows scans and troubleshoots, but nothing seems to work. I'm really at a loss here and would appreciate any help on how to fix this issue!

Check if there are any indicator LEDs on your router or computer's Ethernet ports. Do they change when you plug or unplug the cable? Also, in your device manager under Network Adapters, it should list all your network devices. Look for anything that might resemble an Ethernet adapter there. If you find one, double-click it to see if it shows any issues or if there's a proper driver installed. You should also run 'ipconfig /all' and see what it results in.
When you plug in the Ethernet cable, do you see any lights blinking on your motherboard? Those lights can indicate whether your device is recognizing the connection or not. Sometimes, if there’s no sign of activity, it might be a sign your Ethernet port is malfunctioning.
If you have another device that connects via Ethernet, try plugging it into the same port to check if the issue is with the port or your computer. Another option could be using a USB to Ethernet adapter. That can help you determine if the built-in Ethernet on your desktop is the problem. If it is, consider getting a new network card instead of just the external adapter.

I’ll definitely look into getting a USB to Ethernet adapter if I can’t figure this out soon. Thanks for the suggestion!
