I was gaming when my external hard drive stopped working after a crash. My screen went black for a while, and when I tried to alt-tab, the taskbar wouldn't respond, so I had to force shut down my PC. After rebooting, my external hard drive is still connected, but it doesn't show up in File Explorer. Any ideas on what might be going on?

Have you checked if your external hard drive is recognized in the BIOS? If it’s not showing there either, there might be a hardware issue with the drive itself.
You might want to see if the hard drive shows any signs of life, like lights flashing or sounds. If the light is on, that's usually a good sign, but it might still have failed.
