Why Isn’t My .html File Opening with the Default Browser?

I'm having trouble with my .html files not opening automatically in my default browser, even after I've tried changing the default browser multiple times. The only way I can open these files is by right-clicking and manually selecting a browser. When I try to set a browser to open the files, the option I see is 'Open just once'—there's no option to always open with that browser. I've even tried reinstalling the browser, but that didn't help. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you're on Windows. If you right-click on an .html file and go to Properties, check the 'Type of file' and 'Opens with' fields. If it doesn't show your preferred browser there, you can try changing it. Look for a 'Change...' button that lets you set it to your default browser, which might solve your issue. Let me know what those fields say if you still need help!

I checked, and it still doesn't work! The 'Opens with' field shows a different program. Should I use the 'Change...' option to set it manually?
