Why isn’t my mouse working on my computer?

I was in the middle of a project and left my computer on while I took a quick shower. When I came back, the computer was shut down. Now that I've turned it on, my HyperX Pulsefire Haste mouse is not lighting up or functioning at all. I've tried every mouse I have with all my working USB ports, but none of them seem to work. Can anyone help me figure out why my PC won't recognize any mouse?

Have you checked if your keyboard is working? If it lights up but you can't confirm if it inputs anything, that could be a clue. I know it's tricky since your monitor is stuck in sleep mode, but if your keyboard is functional, that might suggest a different kind of issue.

The keyboard does light up, but I can't tell if it registers input. My headphones also light up for a moment when I plug them in, but then go out. Sounds like a power issue.

You might want to try a hard reset. Hold down the power button until the computer turns off, wait for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Sometimes that does the trick!

Just did that, but I'm still getting nothing.

Make sure your power cord is properly connected. It sounds like your PC might not be getting enough power to run peripheral devices properly. Everything should be plugged in as needed, but there could be a deeper power issue at play.
