Why Isn’t My PC Recognizing the Ethernet Connection?

I recently set up an ethernet connection from my landlord's fiber internet in the kitchen to my PC in the bedroom. I haven't used my PC for a while, but it worked fine during a previous boot when I accidentally accessed the HDD. Now, when I start up normally, it doesn't seem to recognize the internet connection. Is it possible that the ethernet cable is the problem, or could it be something else I need to check?

You should check the Networking settings in the Control Panel. Look for the ethernet interface. It can show you whether it’s not connected or not recognized. If it’s just not connected, try updating the drivers and see if swapping the cable helps. If it’s not showing up at all, you might need to reinstall the driver or even update the BIOS firmware.

Definitely look for driver updates tailored to your setup. It might be crucial for getting that connection back up.

When you say your PC doesn't recognize the internet, are you seeing a physical link on the cable? Make sure one end is plugged into the router and the other into your PC. If there’s no connection, it could be the cable itself or settings that need adjusting.
