Why isn’t my RAM being detected by BIOS and what’s that orange light on my motherboard?

I'm having trouble with my RAM not being detected by the BIOS on my B550M A motherboard. There's also an orange light glowing on the board. I've already tried reseating the RAM in different slots and even tested it one stick at a time, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions on what this could mean?

Definitely check if the RAM is seated correctly in the right slots (2nd and 4th). If the clips didn't click in, it might not be recognized. If you haven’t done so already, test each stick in isolation. Also, keep in mind that the orange light usually indicates an issue—could be a memory failure or something else. If reseating doesn't help and if it's a new build, you might want to examine the motherboard for any physical damages or misplaced pins.

First off, what kind of RAM are you using? Check to make sure it's compatible with your motherboard. A lot of times, the 2nd and 4th slots are recommended for installation. If you're able to access BIOS, try resetting the RAM configuration there and save the changes. Just a heads up, a faulty memory pin on the CPU could be an issue, but let’s not jump to conclusions. Is this RAM new, or has it worked fine before? When reseating the sticks, ensure that both clips are completely disconnected and the RAM is seated properly. It's rare, but two sticks could be defective if there's damage from shipping or handling, so testing each individually in the 2nd slot could help.
