Why isn’t my SATA SSD being detected after rebuilding my PC?

Hey there! I recently treated myself to a new PC case for my birthday and completely rebuilt my setup within it. However, I'm facing an issue where my SATA SSD, which holds all my games, isn't being recognized by the system. Interestingly, the M.2 drive that has the OS on it is working perfectly.

Here's what I've tried so far:

1. I put the SSD into a USB enclosure, and my PC detected it without any issues.
2. I've tested different SATA data and power cables, but that didn't help.
3. I also tried using a different SATA port on the motherboard, but still no luck.

I'm starting to think that the problem might be with either the power supply or the motherboard. Is there something I'm overlooking? Also, is there a budget-friendly way to figure out which component is the culprit? Thanks for any help!

What motherboard are you using? Sometimes, specific SATA ports can get disabled depending on how the other drives are set up or what PCIe cards you’ve got installed.

It's a Gigabyte Aorus B450. Just to clarify, the setup was working fine before I moved everything to the new case.

Sounds like the M.2 drive might be disabling the SATA port. Check your motherboard manual for details—this comes up a lot with certain configurations.

Quick question: Could this be an issue if everything was functioning properly before the rebuild?
