Why Isn’t My SSD Being Recognized by BIOS or OS?

Hey everyone! I'm having trouble with my Samsung SSD. It's not being recognized by either the BIOS or the operating system. The cables and ports are working fine because my old HDD detects immediately when connected. The SSD itself works on another PC, so that's not the issue. On the PC that's having trouble, I'm also using two other SSDs: one M.2 and one SATA. However, I doubt they are causing the problem since my HDD is recognized on the same port. My motherboard is an Asus TUF B450 Plus. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Could be that your motherboard doesn’t support that SSD. You might want to check if it’s compatible. Also, have you thought about reaching out to AI platforms for help with all your specs included? They might offer some insights!

The SSD was my old Windows SSD, so it should be compatible.

Have you tried booting from a live OS to see if it detects the SSD? Sometimes, the BIOS settings only show drives as bootable. If it’s not appearing at all, that’s definitely a concern.

I did try with NixOS live since I had the ISO on a USB, but it didn’t get recognized there either.
