Why isn’t my SSD being recognized during Windows installation?

I'm trying to install Windows on my SSD so I can play games that aren't compatible with Linux. I've got the Windows Media Creation tool up and running but when I get to the part where you select the drive for installation, only the USB drive with the installation media shows up. I've already tried reformatting the SSD as NTFS, exFAT, and also left it unallocated using KDE Partition Manager, but nothing seems to work. When I use Diskpart with shift+F10, it only lists the USB drive. Should I use a different formatting tool, or is there something else I should do to get my SSD recognized? My SSD is 476.94 GiB and labeled as "(/dev/nvme1n1)".

Have you tried using a different USB port for the installation media? Sometimes certain ports can cause issues. Also, double-check if your SSD needs any firmware updates that may help with recognition during the install process.

I hadn’t thought about using a different USB port! I’ll give that a shot and see if it helps. I'll also look for any SSD firmware updates. Appreciate it!

Make sure the SSD is properly connected and recognized in the BIOS. Sometimes, Windows installation only shows drives that are detected by the BIOS. If the SSD is listed there but not during installation, you might need to load drivers for it during the setup.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check the BIOS and see if the SSD shows up. If it does, I'll check if there are any specific drivers I might need.
