I'm trying to connect my Xbox to the internet using an Ethernet cable, but it's not working at all. I'm currently using the WiFi at my college dorm. Is there a chance they have disabled Ethernet connections? When I check my Xbox, it shows 'NAT type unavailable' and 'service info unavailable.'

It might be that the dorm’s network has Ethernet connections disabled to manage bandwidth. Have you checked if other devices can connect via Ethernet? Also, sometimes restarting the router can help, so give that a shot if possible!
First off, can you explain exactly how you’re trying to connect your Xbox with the Ethernet cable? Do you have a router in your room or maybe just an access point? A photo of your setup could help too, showing the model numbers and connections would be awesome!
