Why won’t my GPU display anything at boot?

Hey everyone! I'm having some trouble with my new PC build. My graphics card isn't displaying anything—it's like the system isn't recognizing it at all. The lights are on and the fans are spinning, but I've only got a signal from the integrated graphics. I'm currently using an HDMI connection, but I might grab a DisplayPort cable to test it out. The GPU doesn't even appear in Device Manager, so I can't download any drivers through AMD software. I'm starting to wonder if I have a driver issue or if the graphics card itself is faulty. Here are my PC specs for reference: GIGABYTE X870 AORUS Elite WIFI7 ICE motherboard, AMD RYZEN 7 9800X3D CPU, PowerColor Hellhound Spectral White AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB GPU, 32GB of CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 RAM, 2TB TEAMGROUP T-Force G70 PRO storage, and a Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 Snow Edition 850W PSU. Any help would be appreciated!

It’s possible you’re just missing the necessary drivers. But remember, you won’t need those drivers for the BIOS signal. Graphics drivers kick in once the operating system starts booting. So, this issue could be hardware-related instead.

Exactly! Focus on getting the physical connections sorted out first before worrying about drivers.

First off, try reseating the GPU along with its power connectors. Sometimes a loose connection can cause this issue. If you're using a PCIe riser, plug the GPU directly into the motherboard PCIe slot instead to see if that resolves the problem.

And definitely check to make sure the cables are snugly connected to the PSU too.

After you do that, can you test the GPU in another computer to see if it works there?
