Why Would Someone Share a Google Drive Folder with Me Anonymous?

I just noticed that an unknown person shared a Google Drive folder with me, and it raised some concerns. I didn't open the folder because the name seemed suspicious, and I ended up blocking the person. I'm worried about how they got my email in the first place. Is there anything else I should do to ensure my safety, or am I overreacting?

Honestly, sharing a Google Drive folder only requires an email address, so it’s possible they just have your email in their contacts. It sounds like you did the right thing by not opening it, and there's probably no real risk here. Just consider it junk mail.

It’s likely just a mistake on their part. They might have accidentally shared it with you while trying to send it to someone else. If it looked fishy, staying away was a wise choice!

Yeah, the folder had a weird name, so I just ignored it. Better not to take the risk.

You're definitely smart for blocking that person and not clicking anything. If you felt uneasy about the folder, it’s best to trust your instincts. Better safe than sorry!
