Hey everyone! So my cousin might give me his RX 6700 XT, but I want to make sure my power supply can handle it. Here are my current specs: I have a Core i5-10400F processor, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, an MSI H410M-B motherboard, and I'm currently running a GTX 1660 Super. My power supply is an EVGA BR 500 Watt 80+ Bronze. I also have three 200GB SSDs, a 2TB HDD, and six 12" fans. I'm not planning to upgrade my CPU anytime soon. Do you think my 500W PSU will be enough to run the RX 6700 XT? Thanks!

Make sure to check how much 12V power your PSU provides. Just because it's rated 500W, it doesn't mean it can handle that much on the 12V rail. AMD actually recommends a 650W PSU for the RX 6700 XT, so be careful—it might freeze or crash under load!
Your i5-10400F only draws about 65W, while the RX 6700 XT is rated at 230W. If your PSU is a quality brand, a 500W should be fine, but you'd want to avoid any budget PSUs. Stick to reputable brands for safety!
I appreciate the input! I did mention it's an EVGA BR 500 watt 80+ bronze. Does that change anything?
It might be tight depending on the PSU design. As long as it has enough 6 and 8-pin connectors and is from a decent brand, you should be okay. Just note that you might not hit peak efficiency, but there might still be some headroom left.
Thanks for clarifying! I wasn’t sure about the connectors; it’s good to know I have some flexibility.
Consider using AMD's Adrenaline software to lower the power limit if you're worried. It can help you run the card with minimal performance loss while keeping power draw in check.
True, but OP has a lower draw CPU, so if their PSU can handle around 500W on the 12V, they might be fine. Just keep an eye on temps and stability!
