I'm wondering if my 550 watt power supply can handle both an Intel Core i5-12400F and an AMD Radeon 6700XT GPU. I'm curious about the worst case scenarios if it doesn't provide enough power.

Yes, the 12400F is known for being very power-efficient, so you're in a decent spot!
You're likely fine! The i5-12400F only consumes about 117W, and the 6700XT draws around 230W. If it helps, I run a setup with a 5800X3D (120W) and a 3060 TI (220W, overclocked) without any problems for years.
Thanks so much, everyone! I think I'll stick with my current setup for now and maybe upgrade down the line. You guys are awesome!
I’m currently using a 500 watt PSU with a 6600 XT and an i7 11700KF, and it’s been running fine. However, I’d recommend at least upgrading to a 650 watt to be on the safe side. A 550 watt might work but could raise stability issues. If you do give it a try, just make sure not to overclock anything!
Yeah, I don’t overclock either, and everything's been perfect for me—no shutdowns or issues at all.
