I accidentally spilled some acetone on my MacBook M3 keyboard, and now about a quarter of the keys don't light up properly. The keys still work, but they're a bit tough to press. There's no visible external damage, and it's still under the one-year warranty. If I take it in and just mention that the keys don't light up, will Apple honor the warranty, or will I have to pay out of pocket for repairs?

The bad news is that Macs have these things called Liquid Contact Indicators (LCIs) that can show if there's been exposure to liquid. So even if you don't mention the acetone, they might find out. Just a heads up!
They're likely to notice that it's liquid damage, whether you tell them or not. It's pretty obvious in cases like this.
Unfortunately, that damage won't be covered under warranty. Apple's warranty generally only covers manufacturing defects and not accidental damage. You’d really need AppleCare+ for that kind of coverage.
Exactly! It's best to be upfront about what happened; they can usually tell.
