I'm encountering a strange email issue in Microsoft 365 regarding our Trend Micro email security setup. As we transition away from it, I want to know whether disabling the connector might interrupt our email flow. We're still receiving emails from a third-party source, but it appears that some emails sent by a service account, often with attachments like XLS or PDF files, never reach our domain. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Check your domain settings or use a site like MXToolbox to see where your emails are being routed first. This can provide some clarity on what's happening.
It really depends on your MX records. If they're set to point to Trend Micro and you disable the connector, then no emails will reach your Exchange server. However, if you've already updated your MX records, turning off the connector won't have any impact on your mail flow.
To really get a grasp on this, you should research how email flow operates. Understanding MX records and SPF records can help clarify your situation. Based on your question, it seems you might not be familiar with DKIM either.
Is the connector you're referring to inbound or outbound? Also, make sure to check what your SPF and MX records show to get a clearer picture.
